Polar Vortex Arrives at Wisp

Flakes are already falling, and Wisp is at the ready with snow guns loaded as this polar vortex arrives in Deep Creek Lake this evening.

Our team plans to make snow around-the-clock using fixed and portable guns located across the entire mountain including the front side, North Camp, and East Ridge. All pumps are functioning and will be pushing water at max capacity. Our snowmaking efforts paired with natural snow from Mother Nature will make for stellar conditions and more terrain opening soon.

Fifteen (15) plus inches of snow is forecast for our area over the next week. What a great way to start the NEW YEAR!
