Private Lessons

If you are looking to knock off the rust, refine your skills, or just have a more personalized instruction, a private lesson is for you.

Private Lessons are available for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities who are at least 3 years old. Lessons can be scheduled on the hour daily from 9am to 3pm. Private lessons must be booked by calling our Reservations Team at 800-462-9477. Due to high demand, it is recommended to book private lessons in advance.

Group Lessons

Whether you are learning to ski or snowboard for the first time or a seasoned veteran looking to knock off the rust, Wisp’s ski and snowboard instructors can help you reach your goals. Our lessons are fun, safe, and can help you reach the next level. 

The Learning Center offers private instruction and group lessons. Private Instruction caters to ages three and up, while Group Lessons are offered to guests six and older.

Arriving for a Lesson

When arriving for a lesson, Wisp recommends parking near the Learning Center Himalayan Yurt (Rentals Yurt) to get any needed rental equipment and prepare to meet for your lesson.

Learn-to Ski/Snowboard Packages

Learning Made Easy + Fun

Learning a new sport can be intimidating but not at Wisp! Our Learning Center located within the Sundown Yurt Village has everything in one convenient location, including the best beginner terrain and progressive surface lifts in the mid-Atlantic.

Package Includes: Lift Ticket, Sport Rental, Group Lesson Ages 6 & up

Purchase packages online in advance and save a minimum of $10. Secure your fun in advance – daily lift tickets, rentals, and tubing sessions must be purchased online in advance to ensure your spot on the mountain.

Kids Programs

Build children’s confidence. Teach them a sport for life. Get them outdoors! That’s the Wisp Kids mission.

Designed for ages 5-12 years, our professional and highly trained instructors will provide your child the confidence they need to help turn their ski or snowboard learning experience into a sport they will grow to love.

This full-day program allows kids to socialize with their peers and learn in an atmosphere designed especially for them.

If your child’s address is outside of the United States, a DHMH Immunization Certificate form 896 needs to be provided by your child’s medical provider. You can download a copy from the State of Maryland HERE.

You may also download and complete the Wisp Kids Waiver to expedite the process at check-in. 

Under Maryland law, if your child has an Epinephrine Auto-Injector, often called an ‘EpiPen’ or Inhaler for emergency purposes, we need THIS FORM filled out by you and your child’s physician. One form per day is needed, and Wisp Kids can only hold Epinephrine Auto-Injectors and Inhalers. No other medication is allowed inside our facility. If your child needs other medication during the camp day, a parent or guardian must administer said medications in the registration building.

Wisp Kids check-in is in the Bitterroot Yurt in Sundown Village.

Wisp Kids provides a full lunch to keep little ones fueled and bellies happy.

Within 48 hours of the reserved program date, a “return voucher* will be issued for a program date within the same season.

*Return vouchers are non-transferable, have no cash value, and are subject to availability. No rescheduling or adjusting reservations when redeeming one-time use.

  • Children should be dropped off in appropriate attire and ready for their lessons and outdoor play.
  • Equipment Rental includes skis or snowboard w/ bindings, boots, and helmet.

  • We are a nut-free facility. Please respect this policy and please do not pack snacks or lunches that may contain nuts.
  • Limited space is available, and reservations are required.
  • All personal belongings must be picked up from Wisp Kids by 4:00 PM daily.
