Wisp Escape Games

Wisp Resort is set to open Wisp Escape Games on Saturday, September 16.  An Escape Game is a themed physical adventure game where players are put in a room and must use team building and problem solving to complete puzzles using clues, hints and strategy to ‘escape’ the room in a set amount of time.  The Race to the Slopes game accommodates six to ten players and the cost is $24 per person.  Reservations are required and available online here or by calling 800.462.9477.

Wisp’s first Escape Game, Race to the Slopes, sets the fictional scene in the first big snow storm of the winter season.  The lifts start turning in exactly one hour!  The problem is, you’re stuck at work in the ski shop and on top of that, you’ve misplaced your lift ticket.  The first thing you need to do is complete all your work tasks.  Next, you’ll need to find your lift ticket which will guide you to the escape key.  Hurry, before you miss all the freshies – tick, tock, tick, tock…

“Wisp Escape Games will add another dimension to Wisp’s menu of activities – it’s not dependent on weather, the games will be offered into the evening hours and it is an ideal team building activity for groups,” said Eric Anderson, Mountain Park Manager.  Anderson also stated, “The closest game of its kind is located in Morgantown, WV so this will be a unique attraction for Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County.”

Pre-Winter Lodging Sale

As soon as the weather starts to cool and the leaves begin to change, all of us skiers and snowboarders begin to get the FEVER.  The Ski Fever!  It's extremely dangerous as it causes long bouts of daydreaming of groomer runs, powder runs, well, basically any runs.  Once the fever hits, you'll notice affected individuals begin to unpack and uncover last year's gear and equipment to inspect, tune and reminisce.  Severe cases have shown individuals putting on said gear and pretending to ski/ride on their still-green lawns in late-Summer / early-Fall.  One known cure is to begin booking your Winter Getaway NOW!  With only 104 days until the Winter Solstice, Ski Fever season is upon us.
